Getting started with AI
Do I need to be good with technology?
No. You need to know your business; we bring the AI side. If you've tried a chatbot and wondered what the fuss was about, you're in the right place. We start with your own work as the example, not a manual.
Is AI any use for a business like mine?
If your week has paperwork in it, probably. The jobs it's best at are the small, repetitive ones: reading the shared inbox and matching emails to jobs, working out which invoices are overdue and who to chase, and catching two documents that disagree on a start date before the crew finds out. We started with trades and construction, but any business with paperwork is welcome.
Where do I start?
With an hour. Intro to AI in Business is one hour with Brad, $275, on where AI fits in your business and where it doesn't. If you'd rather we just did it for you, start with a Review on the Work with us page.
Is AI actually any good, or is this hype?
AI makes mistakes. It isn't perfect, but it's damn good at the right jobs, and we'll tell you straight which ones those are. In our sessions we run the same task twice, once without your business context and once with it, so you can see the difference for yourself.
Will AI replace my staff?
That's not what we build it for. We take the repetitive jobs off your people so they spend their hours on the work that needs them. And nothing is sent, changed or saved without a person saying yes.
About AutomateAI
What does AutomateAI do?
We're an Australian AI agency. We help businesses put AI to work two ways: we automate the repetitive jobs for you, or we teach you and your team to use AI well yourselves.
Who's behind it?
Brad Janes. He also runs a demolition business in northern NSW, and that's where our automations get tested first: real jobs, real tenders, real paperwork. AutomateAI is a trading name of The Trustee for the Janes Family Trust, ABN 41 958 180 913.
Where do you work?
We're based in the Northern Rivers of NSW and visit clients across the Northern Rivers, the Gold Coast and Brisbane. We work with businesses anywhere in Australia.
Can I see work you've done?
Yes. Client stories shows a business we've worked with, what we built and where it's at now. What we're working on shows the products we're building and testing on our own businesses first, and See it work has short examples of the same question asked cold and then with the business behind it.
Working with us and prices
What does it cost?
Learn: Intro to AI in Business, one hour with Brad, $275. AI training session, two hours plus a follow-up Q&A, $1,100.
Have us do it: a Review (about a day of our time looking at how your business runs and where AI will save you hours) is $1,980, one-off, and half of it comes off if you sign on within 30 days. A Set-up block (16 hours over four weeks to build your first automations and get them running) is $4,400. On call (2 hours a month) is $550 a month. On the tools (8 hours a month) is $2,200 a month. A day a week or a bigger build is quoted for the job.
Our rate is $275 an hour. All prices include GST.
How does that compare with other AI consultants?
Independent AI consultants in Australia commonly charge about $200 to $350 an hour, and bigger firms more. Ours is $250 an hour plus GST, and every package is a fixed price, so you know the number before we start.
How long before I see results?
The Set-up block is built to have your first automations running inside four weeks.
Is there a lock-in on the monthly plans?
Monthly plans run three months to start, billed monthly in advance. After that it's 30 days' notice to stop. Unused hours roll over to the next month, once. Extra hours are $275 an hour, always agreed with you first.
What if it doesn't work for us?
That's why we start with a Review. If AI won't save you real hours, we'll tell you, and you've spent a day, not a year. If you go ahead within 30 days, half the Review fee comes off.
Do I pay for the software too?
Yes. You pay your own software and AI subscriptions, so the accounts stay in your name. Bigger builds are quoted separately before any work starts.
How many businesses do you take on?
Five at a time, so you deal with Brad, not a ticket queue.
How do I get started, and how fast will I hear back?
Fill in the form on the Work with us page and tell us where the hours go. Brad reads every enquiry and replies within one business day. Or email hello@automateai.com.au.
The first hour
What happens in the Intro to AI in Business hour?
It's one hour with Brad, $275. We talk through why you want AI, what your business does and where the hours go, then use your own work to show what AI can and can't do for you, and you leave knowing the first thing worth setting up.
How do I book a spot?
Use Save my spot on the home page with your name and email, and we'll email you the session details.
Your data and privacy
Will AI send or change things in my business without me knowing?
No. Nothing is sent, changed or saved without your yes.
Is it safe to put my business and client information into AI?
It depends on the account. Free and personal AI accounts can use what you type to train their models; business plans usually don't, and give you admin controls. Client information also carries Privacy Act duties. We set things up on business accounts in your name and tell you what should never go in.
Who owns my data?
You do. What you've captured about your business stays yours when tools change, and your software accounts stay in your name.
AvianOS
What is AvianOS, and how is it different from just using ChatGPT?
A normal chatbot starts from zero every time you open a new chat. AvianOS is our AI that remembers your business: it keeps one living page for every job, so tomorrow's chat picks up where today's left off, every fact shows where it came from, and each job shows its next step. You talk to it as Bower or Mallee. It's in pilot, running in our own businesses first; join the early list on the AvianOS page.
